General information

Potamos Village Kythira: Potamos is the largest village of Kythira located 10 km from Agia Pelagia and 19 km from Chora. It is the local commercial centre receiving a great number of locals from other villages.

This unspoiled and quite village offers some really nice sites to visit as an extremely beautiful bridge from the English period, a Byzantine church dedicated to Saint Theodore, the church of the Panagia (Virgin Mary) of Ilariotissa and the churches of Agios Ioannis, Agia Anastasia and the Saviour (Sotiros), which are really interesting because of their beautiful icons and fine frescoes.

South of Potamos, the nice rocky beach of Agios Eleutherios, surrounded by huge cliffs, is an excellent place to enjoy a refreshing swim. The village has a large number of shops, hotels, rooms for rent, restaurants and fish taverns.

    Nice During Flea Market
As most of the villages, Potamos is small, with not many strolling routes.
It is best to visit it during Sunday, when there is "flea market" at the main square, and buy some nice traditional food - figs, oil, traditional bread and so on.
