General information

A small-sized village toward the eastern side of Corfu town, Petriti is said to be the largest fishing port on the island of Corfu! Unlike the more tourist-friendly nearby villages of Lefkimmi and Boukari, Petriti seems quite unaffected by mass waves of tourism, instead sticking to its old ways, with 700 permanent residents working mostly on fishing duties and boasting an abundance of fishing boats along its port!

Spot the small harbors all over Petriti, providing excellent seaside views during the late evenings since the floating boats create a variety of interesting color combinations with the water! In addition, Petriti Beach, a sandy seashore with beautiful shallow waters, is one of the few tourist gems of the village!

Given that there are not many shops and tourist facilities in Petriti except a handful of beachside taverns, the village seems to be the ideal destination for couples or families looking for complete and utter peace throughout their vacation period, as well as a good alternative for hiking and forest lovers! However, given the village’s proximity to the popular destinations of southern Corfu, one may also rent a car and explore to their heart’s content!
