General information

A seaside village defined by a traditional Greek charm, Lardos is located 50 km from Rhodes Town. At the heart of the village lies a picturesque square surrounded by trees. There you will find many taverns and cafes where the locals gather to drink a Greek coffee or grab a meze. It also features a beautiful fountain and some local shops. Taking a walk through the small paths and the olive groves is a worthwhile expedition and further unlocks the rustic beauty of the area.

About 2 km from the village, the scenic Lardos Beach resides. It boasts a golden shore and rich blue waters and is organized, with umbrellas and sunbeds available. You can also stop by the beaches of Lindos and Pefki, both accessible by car or public bus. Various accommodation options can be found near Lardos Beach, as well as the rest of the village.

In addition, Lardos is a place with great archaeological and cultural interest. It is worth seeing the remains of the Byzantine Castle of Lardos, built in the 12th century by the Knights of Saint John. The Women’s Monastery of the Virgin Mary is equally worth a visit and includes a temple, an impressive bell tower and a myriad of other buildings. The Folklore Museum offers a deeper dive into the history of Lardos, showcasing archaeological artifacts found in the area.
